Functional Description:

Positions in Risk Management lead the development of credit, operational, enterprise, and fraud policies designed to profitably grow the portfolio, while ensuring excellent customer experience. These policies utilize mathematical models and other techniques to understand and predict customer behavior. At the manager level, the employee does not have a people leadership role but is often viewed as an emerging expert in the field. Focuses on resolution of complex problems. Conducts analyses, recommends changes to policies, and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.

Purpose of the role:

The incumbent would be part of the Economic Capital Decision Science team reporting into Director – Regulatory Modeling Decision Science and will lead a team of 3 risk management professionals based out of Gurgaon. The incumbent is expected to provide thought leadership to manage/enhance Economic Capital modeling framework which is leveraged downstream for underwriting and investment optimization purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enhance modeling framework to calculate economic capital for AXP portfolios
  • Develop, document, implement, and monitor risk models required for Economic Capital calculation and reporting
  • Application of machine learning techniques to create efficiencies in the existing processes
  • Partner with other risk management teams across the globe to develop logic and system capabilities that will help in more optimal decision across Acquisition, Underwriting or Customer Management
  • Providing modeling support and expertise to various cross-functional teams, including Strategy, Finance, Validation, and Audit teams
  • Exploration of new Information sources to improve our risk discrimination and / or improve our economics over and above existing framework
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in Decision science is preferred. Experience in dealing with regulatory models is an added advantage.
  • Ability to understand the business problem/needs and be able to provide thought leadership to develop solutions
  • Should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a tremendous will to win.
  • Strong people relationship building, management and influencing skills.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in Decision science is preferred. Experience in dealing with regulatory models is an added advantage.
  • Post Graduate Degree in Management / Statistics / Mathematics is preferred.
  • Functional Skills/Capabilities:
     

Sound knowledge of credit risk management

Knowledge of Line decisioning is an added advantage

  • Technical Skills/Capabilities:
     

Deriving insights from datasets and presenting to senior leaders/business partners

Managing teams that have Hands-on experience of coding in SAS/SQL/Python/MLS

  • Knowledge of Platforms:Teradata / Cornerstone
